  1. Why do I have the black on the side and bottom of the screen? It's a .mov file that I ran through avanti and converted to .flv. I've tried different sizes but that didn't help. Any ideas? Thanks! (Not my file, I'm doing this for another user)

  3. Thanks. The reason I'm not uploading the .mov file is that it is doing something to the sound and really screwing it up. I used the guide you posted to "cheat" youtube and improved the guys sound quite a bit prior to posting this question.

Click here for his uplaod up the file. His screen came out fine but the sound is screwed. The original file isn't that great to begin with because it was shot with a still camera. Thanks for the reply, zoobie!

ffmpeg (avanti encoder) reads the file as if it's 352x288 when it's in fact 320x240.

mencoder properly detects resolution, but it crashes on me.
    bastard .mov...

So just use something quicktime powered, export to something useable.
    then encode to flv.

I think i've got the colouring the way you'd like it:
