    Hi,

I'm very pleased to have finally found a free video converter after failing to find a 'free' converter that didn't require a subscription fee - wondershare does a a great MP4 to VOB -

But,the XviD4PSP 5 does seem to take hours (24!) to encode a file, and I have no idea what any of the features are meant to do, although I've guessed I need to convert it to a MPEG2 PAL file which is what most european dvd operate with.

The video has completed and saved in a temp folder Encoding video to: C:\Temp\0000.m2v
MPEG2 Q1.0 720x576 23.976fps (171603 frames) but the audio data is now being completed separately, slowly, Encoding audio to: C:\Temp\0000.ac3
    AC3 192kbps 2ch 16bit 48000khz

Can I ask if after it's completed whether I will be able to burn the MPEG2 file to a dvd, probably using wondershare, and if AC3 is an appropriate setting for the file?

  2. The m2v and ac3 that you´ve obtained are indeed DVD compatible, but you need to load them into an authoring program, you can find some good and free ones here, just make sure to specify that the authoring program doesn´t re-encode your footage.
Or you can try AVS2DVD, an excellent program that will also author your DVD (with or without a menu)
