I'm a windows guy, and I have a .ts file I made using a capture card of a HD broadcast. I have a friend that would like a copy of the file, but they want to play it on an ipad. They are not very techie, and probably don't want to download and install a separate player just to play the file. So I want to convert it to a format that they can play on an ipad with no jumping through hoops. My instinct is make it AVC/.mp4, but since I don't have an ipad, I can't test that theory

I can convert it using xmedia recode, or re-render in Vegas 13.

    Is there a simple answer?

    Thank you

    xmedia recode or HandBrake.
Just beware if you are an old fart like me with XP you'll need an older version of HandBrake, but it still has excellent Apple presets.

I have the tools, I was wondering what format, for ease of use on an ipad.

edit; I didn't see the part about Apple presets.
