Panasonic LSI for DMR-EZ17,EZ27...?

Hi,
I saw here and there comments about a "Panasonic LSI" chip inside Panasonic EZ17, EZ27, etc. Is this indeed something based on the LSI chip?

They are based on the LSI Logic Domino 3 chip. However, the DVD recorder business at LSI has been sold to Magnum Semiconductor. So as of today, it's the Magnum Semiconductor Domino 3.

Yes there is an LSI chip in these models. Unfortunately they are very buggy.
Also panasonic did not put a heat sink on the LSI chip and get really hot even when they are off. So the chip tend to malfunction after awhile.Too bad because they have a great
output picture. They need a heat sink and a bigger fan.My died after not to long.
