Ive noticed that if you want to crop a video and add subtitles with the textsub filter in one editing, the subs will be added and THEN cropped. Meaning that if you want to add subtitles saying "This is my movie" from 00:00 to 00:10 and you want to crop away the first 30 seconds (in one edit) then the text won't be displayed.
This caused me huge problems in the past because I couldnt work out why my subtitles were so out of time. It was because the video gets cropped after the subtitles are filtered in.
So is there a way to make the video get cropped first and then have the subtitles filtered in?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Isn't it simply a case of reversing the filter order? Or if that doesn't help,
crop first, save as direct stream copy, then add the subs on a second pass.
Edit - yes trim, is more usually used when you remove some frames.
crop is usually used to remove something from the sides or bottom.Last edited by davexnet; 6th Aug 2014 at 22:45.
