  1. I created a menu background in Photoshop and added some text in the trial version of Adobe Encore.

After viewing this in my standalone DVD player, the text was shaky.

Should I be using smooth or crisp fonts when creating the menus. Or was this caused by something else?

    Thanks

Smooth or bold text would be better, but more than likely the text was too thin or the too much contrast. Sometimes when you use pure white text on pure black background, you end up with a little flicker. If that's what you did, you may want to try 10% gray text.

  3. I used a smooth mid-light grey font on a very dark grey background so there wasn't much contrast.

I will try a bolder font as you suggested.
