After lots of testing, I just wanted to get this in print in hopes it will help someone. This player is nice but has 2 fatal flaws IMO, well 3 but the last one isn't the fault of the player.
o This player won't play discs created by standalone players like Philips. I could send the VOBs from the Philips disc to Nero and create a usable disc, but this should be unnecessary.
o The PAL->NTSC conversion is pretty bad. Not the worst I've seen but uses the add/remove frame technique and makes for studdery conversion. Go with the JVC or Malata for superb PAL->NTSC.
o The SACD and DVD-A output is on the discrete 6 RCA connectors only. This is because the digital connectors can handle DD/DTS only, but this also means you must have the 6 RCA inputs on the receiver. Another option would have been nice.
