I have backed up a few DVDs (Audio & Video TS Folders) onto my Acer Netbook to watch on trips, the volume is hard to hear. I want to convert those to AVI since it would require less space on the hard drive and want to know what you guys use to bring the volume up to a louder level. For either format. Would I need to re-encode as well?

    Thanks,

It's most likely the multi channel AC3 in the movie. I use AC3Filter to tweak (gain, drc, etc) how the audio will be projected into a 2 speaker configuration

  3. Just use AutoGK to convert to AVI, it will normalize the audio during conversion.
