How do you convert DivX file w/4 subs to AVI?

How do you convert a DivX file w/4 subtitles to AVI so you can have 4 external subtitle files for uploading to make it easier (wider selection of software & stand alone players) for the downloader to view, convert or burn with their choice of subtitle? Movie only plays with DivX player and subtitle choice. If file extension is renamed divx to avi it will play in more players but no subtitles.
