hello all, I've dowloaded a MKV HD movie, and I was wondering can I burn it straight to a DVD and watch it on a DVD player, or do I have to converted it to ISO/Img or VOB files to burn using ImgBurn. Also can ImgBurn convert MKV files to ISO/Img files? thnx..

it has to be reencoded to vob. Good luck, I've been looking for a program for a week to do this. So far, SUPER is the only program I had any sort of luck with, and for some reason it will only encode the first 15 mins of the movie.

I use the Haali Splitter, FFDShow and FAVC to encode mkv files to DVD and the quality is much higher than SUPER can produce.

No standalone DVD players support MKV files. There is a rumor that a new media streaming player supports it, but I have no idea is that is true or not.
You need to convert using one of the methods suggested in the other post.

I have found ConvertXtoDVD sometimes has sync issues because it cannot always correctly determine the framerate of AVC content.
