With Nero, you should be able to burn SVCDs in Mode 2. I used to do them with Nero and I could get up to 830MB on a regular CD. Mode 2 doesn't add error checking files, so there is more room and no overburning needed. You don't really need error checking with a video file, it's more for data files. I believe you can also do this with ISO files pretty much automatically, IE, .bin-.cue files.

Hi redwudz
Thanks for the reply..I just checked nero and it is set mode2 burning.. I decided to try and convert the mpeg in VCDEasy and this shows the mpeg at over 9oo MB??
Im guessing now that something may have happened in TMPGenc as media info is showing at 795 MB but any other programe is showing it as larger than that..
To test this i re encoded again in TMPGenc and i get the same stats..but again showing oversize in Nero and VCDEasy..
To be honest now..i think i will just convert to DVD...But i would like to get to the bottom of this just out of curiosity...

@ Soixante:
1) use *Windows Explorer* for determining the actual filesizes
2)
<MEDIAINFO>
Width : 720 pixels
Height : 480 pixels
</MEDIAINFO>
