    I took interview video for a CEO yesterday. The picture and lighting were good but the audio recording was bad. It's like the audio input level was a bit higher/over. I use Adobe Premiere Elements 12 to edit my video but no luck to fix the audio track. I tuned down the audio gain a bit but it doesn't work, still deteriorating . Any software can help me to fix this audio problem ? I can call the CEO back to shoot another video.

  2. You'll have to post a sample for anyone to give any advice. Generically, try Audacity.

  4. what format is the video ? Use mediainfo (view=>text)

    If there is significant clipping you probably should reshoot

    If you already use Premiere Elements, just export the audio track from there to a WAV (or high quality mp3, to keep the filesize down).

  7. You can use tsmuxer with the split & cut tab to cut a section , and you can use use it to demux the audio as well

    Thanks.
    This is the terrible audio sample. I have Audacity but don't know how to fix it.

    According the the uploaded sample, only the left channel is distorted. If that is true for the entire file, then you can just remove the left channel and fill the empty left channel with the right channel. I do not know if this is possible in Premiere Elements, but it is in the full blown version of Premiere.

    Very good idea, I didn't even think of that.
    The video/audio was not recorded in a pro studio, background noise is there. How to remove them ? Audacity or other audio fixing freeware ?

    I do not use Audacity but this YouTube video may help:

    It's from 2008 but concept should be the same.

  14. Load the audio into Audacity

    Use the little triangle in the left side of the screen (next to Ken Talk)

    Select Split Stereo Track

    Highlight the bad track by double clicking

    Tracks -> Remove Tracks

    Tracks -> Add New -> Audio tracks

    Highlight the track with audio by double clicking. Edit -> Copy

    Highlight the track without audio. Edit -> Paste

    The little triangle again -> Make Stereo Track

    File -> Export

    (In case you don't already have you'll probably want to install Lame/FFmpeg)

    I don't use Adobe Premiere Element but I would think you could do something similar there.
