Stupid question here which I'm hoping someone can answer since I can't find the answer either on google or searching the forums here:

Is there any currently available method of creating an avi with a standard video codec like xvid with a lossless audio codec like monkeys audio or flac for example? I know I could simply go with uncompressed PCM wav, and it may very well be my next choice if the aforementioned codes are not possible.

    Thanks.

You'd have better luck with the MP4 container. It'll support ALS audio, which is lossless.

    AVI formats supported:

  4. Just create a 384kb mp3, which is as good as lossless. The rest is history. Or his story.

not actually lossless, but to all in tents and yurts, as good as.

PCM is too weighty, might cause bitrate problems
