Any good programs for improving the quality of captured VHS tapes? Thanks.

Almost all improvements must be done BEFORE the video is digitized. After it leaves the analog domain, there's little that can be fixed.

It all depends on what specific errors you want to address.

There are no specific errors that I want to address, but just maybe generally clean up the picture and be able to adjust the red, green, and blue setting.

A Time Base Corrector (TBC) with a ProcAmp would probably do the trick. As was said, once you capture bad video to a digital format it becomes very difficult to correct.

What exactly are a TBC and ProcAMP, and what programs would I be able to find them in? I'm sorry if that sounds like a stupid questions, I've just never heard of those things.

Also, what would be the best option to restore old vhs tapes (some from the 70's and 80's) with either software or hardware? Thanks.

A TBC and a proc amp are pieces of hardware you use BEFORE converting the analog to digital. Go between the VCR and the DVD recorder or capture card.
