I have AVI's captured with HuffYUV and Lagarith which I've coverted using the DVD standard format in TMPGEnc. This has given me .MPG files.
Can I takes these files DVD-Video format without them having to be re-encoded? Are there any freeware programs to do this? If not, what's the best pay program to use?
Is there some other way I should convert them in TMPGEnc Xpress, or perhaps skip using TMPGEnc Xpress? I also have ConvertXtoDVD available, but I assumed TMPGEnc Xpress was a better conversion tool, so I started with that.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Yes, there are some free dvd authoring programs like dvdstyler, guifordvdauthor and dvd flick(be sure to set to not reconvert mpg/dvd compliant streams in dvd flick).
Or use the all-in-one dvd converter AVStoDVD, use the builtin hcencoder and you should get at least or even a bit better quality than tmpgenc xpress.
