I want to rip a dvd onto IMovie so I can do some basic editing and then burn the edited file back into DVD format on a DVD. I tried a ripping program called Mac the Ripper and it ripped my movie into various formats such as .BUP, .IFO, and .VOB. When I try to move the files onto Imovie, I get a message that says that it cannot recognize the files. Am I missing a/some step(s). Please help!
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

It would help considerably to fill out your computer details. If you are using a Mac OS, this question would likely be better addressed in our Mac Forum. I can move you if you like and you would probably get better answers.
And welcome to our forums. -
