It wasn't speeded up, only the framerate increased. It's still the same length as the original PAL source.

It was hard telecined from 25 to 29.97fps and then blend deinterlaced. As far as I know, only Exblend by StainlessS can fix that kind of blending. If you can't figure it out (I never could) you'll have to ask him:

Thanks for the response. Checking ExBlend out.

Does ExBlend work better than yadifmod + srestore from your experience.

It claims to but, as I said, I was never able to get it to work. If you tried SRestore, then you already know it doesn't work at all well on this source. Is this from a retail DVD or has someone already reencoded it? I haven't worked much with South Indian DVDs but it shows signs of having been reencoded. No Hindi DVDs have ever been encoded like this (and I don't mean the progressive frame blends). It shows a mix of intelligence and utter stupidity.

If you have trouble I suggest you ask the author in the thread to which I linked if no one here can offer advice.

It is a retail DVD. Since it is not the typical commercial film, chances of a Blu-Ray release are bleak.

Yes, Srestore did not work well. I don't understand why they don't just slow down 25p to 24p and do a telecine instead. This seems so much more complicated with no visible benefits.
