I have some OGM files and some SSA files. I'm guessing that the OGM is the video and the SSA are the subtitles. I tryed using the Virtual Dub and following the instructions but it's not very clear on how to work with the files. All I want to do is transfer the file format to mpg or avi and place it on my PSP for later. If I'm doing anything wrong, let me know.

PSP requires (slightly modified) mp4's doesn't it?

You would need VirtualDubMod for ogm's.

I'm trying to use that program and follow the directions on how to convert it but there is a seperate file for the ogm and for the ssa. When I look at the directions for Virtualdub it tells me to choose the text file after I choose stream list and there is no text file.

I actually tryed to use TMPGEnc to convert the file without using Virtualdub. Part of it converted and I was able to play it with Nero Showtime. When I played the file I noticed the sound is fine but the video is scrambled. Towards the bottom of the screen, I could notice the subtitles there. Now I really just don't know what to do.
