I was wondering is color correction really need to be a part of capture process or after the capture process? Say the original is from a digital still camera that is high res. Does the color correction help? Or is that the high res footage to begin with can make is look so good to begin with?
This questioning really ties on to how does one raise the quality to making videos on a low budget?

  2. I'd say black/white levels are far more important upon capturing than color. If you are doing color corection on a per-frame basis, I'd recommend not doing that lest you cause flickering due to different levels in different frames. But I am just another schmo, not a pro.
