When I encode a DVD to SVCD (or VCD) in Forty-TwoDVD-MPPlus with COPY DVD CHAPTERS, the program isn't able to finish the job and remains 'Encoding chapters' after the Encoding Video was done.
Nothing appears in the "Burn this" folder.
Nor does the preview work while encoding SVCD.
Any idea?
Specs:
OsX 10.2.6,
Forty-TwoDVD-MPPlus 1.0.2a,
PAL format,
Forty-Two 1.6.1 works fine.

Huh, i did one and it works just fine....
Did you install it properly (as described in the .pdf manual?)
The "installers" for forty-two are not just click and install
you 1st have to put the Forty-Two folder into /library/applicationsupport
THEN you must run the build support app, THEN you must copy the app to your HD THEN you must register it.
did you do all of that??? -
Hello galactica,
thanks for your answer.
I did indeed follow the manual. You have to follow the same steps to get 42 working. Registration was easy to.
Has it something to do with "Copy DVD Chapter Marks" or "Convert..."?
Have you tried both?
I wil try "Convert...".
symphy. -
I have always done COPY. which will just mark them the same as on the dvd.
CONVERT implies you would want particular chapter marks, so you put them in at your desired location -
When I try convert, I always have problems.
But maybe I have some additional information that can help. While the message 'Applying chapters' that remains for hours on the screen, a log was generated by the name
ftChapter.crash.log and containts the following information:

I reinstalled FortyTwoMP+ but the problem remains.
It does not matter wich DVD I try...[/i] -
If you still have this problem after updating to 1.0.3 then please let me know.
-
sorry guys, have to wait until KiaCherry comes upon this post.
I cant think of an answer.. -
I upgraded to 1.0.3 and the problems are even worse.
Converting to DVD: 42DVD-MP+ crashes immediatly after choosing the TEMP directory. Even no preview file.
Converting to VCD the problems stay the same!
I tried on two different Macs. Both OsX 10.2.8. With different DVD's or DVD folders.
Thanks for showing interest. -
I am told that Kia and Co. are working on the issue and that hopefully it will be resolved soon.
-
Can you submit a bug report to chris.long@mac.com. With as much info as you can. Also the normal questions, any spaces in the path to the output or temp? DVD or DVD folder info...
-
I sent as much info as possible to Chris Long (compressed ouput files and log files). Maybe it will help him in developing the next version, and I hope he will react soon.
It would be nice if the problems are solved in version 1.0.4 or so.
42 is easy to use, and delivers good quality. Maybe we can say the same about 42DVD-MP+ in the nearby future. -
I havent received any mail about this yet, unless it was about a different matter. Can you please resend. Just to clarify, Im Chris.
