    I have a .ts video quite large 1080i and 2.40 h lengh I'm tring to convert in mkv and it seems DivX converter is a long job for a P4 2,4GHz. Is it normal to be 50% after 12h ?

    Convert 1080 on a celeron - not even a full P4 - will take a long time. One of the things they do to celeron's to make them cheaper is remove some of the type of math functions that encoding relies on. So instead of being done in hardware they have to be done in software, and much, much more slowly.
