Problem with MeGUI: Error Code "1" when using .MP4 source

I use MeGUI as sort of a "better compressor" than my video editor, giving videos a 2nd run-through on One-Click Encoding. The source files are already .MP4 and I just want them to come out as another .MP4 at a smaller size.

I can't figure out this AVS stuff at all so One-Click is all I use.

My problem is that I just updated MeGUI to 2418, and now when I encode my .MP4s, it says something called "Muxing MKV", finishes that, and the worker window closes and a huge red X appears over my toolbar image for MeGUI. When I look in the logs it says this:

Seems if I render the video in .AVI instead, it works fine.

What's going on, how do I fix it (with details please), and why is it muxing my .MP4 to MKV when I want a .MP4 as a result anyway? It seems like it's breaking just as soon as it finishes making an MKV of my file.


My settings for encoding (in one click encoder):

Video - x264:
- Bitrate 400, No Advanced settings, default playback (it goes on the internet/my IPod touch 4)

Audio - Nero AAC

Output - .MP4 only, 85Mb



All I want it to do is compress my .MP4 (about 400-500 Mb) down to a 80-90Mb video file. I was able to do it in the older builds, but not this new one.

I found a simple guide to making an AVS script and now the worker window doesn't close automatically at "Muxing MKV", but now gives me a file that says "(file name)_muxed" and it has absolutely no audio.

The only thing changed on the script itself is I changed "audio=false" to "audio=true".

Also I downloaded an older built of MeGUI and it works exactly like it did before I updated and ran into this mess. Of course, the moment I ran it it tried to update itself to 2418. I even let everything BUT the core file update, and it still worked just fine, it's the core files. How can I keep it from auto-updating that.
