    i have posted the identical video (a 100 MB mp4) to both vimeo (vimeo.com/19277862) and youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jImNs6dw6o) and the youtube looks awful. what can i do, if anything, to improve the youtube?

    they both look awful because neither of them have been processed correctly before uploading

    deinterlace before you upload

    I disagree, I think they're both screwed up. You can tell from the combing and jaggy aliasing

    They are resized differently as well, without deinterlacing - which gives you those artifacts
