I am quiet annoyed with the various HTML5 video tag currently in circulation. Here are some of my complaints:
IE9: Renders MP4 and WebM poorly, significant quality is lost during playback. If you change a video track while another is playing; there is a pause button but no play button i.e. you have to the press pause which would turn into play and click that again to play the new video. Also on video changes there is a click noise as it starts to play the video.
Safari: Renders MP4 well but does not support webM format. Does this mean because of Safari; MP4 will be hanging around and we will have to provide two versions of the same video forever?
Chrome: Renders MP4 and webm well except for the click I mentioned beforehand.
Firefox: renders webm well but there is a navigational issue. When a video is loaded for play the controlsbar do not disappear after the playback has begun. On the other hand moving on to the subsequent video the controlsbar disappear early as it should.
You can see the Firefox issue here.
Thanks and look forward to your opinions on this matter.
I do not wish to write code for all the browsers, I believe a single presentation ought to work in all browsers and at the same time other than their implementation of the GUI and specialised services they wish to offer.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

I would use flash with mp4 until it works better in ALL browsers.
edit: I see...a test post... -
You are in the Forum-> Other -> Test forum section. It's just for testing.

Excuse me, could me point out the correct forum for my query please? i.e. where I am likely to get more responses.
Thanks again. -
I'm moving you to our video streaming section. It's not exactly the same but closest.

You will be glad to know that these issues are not related to anything I have done. The browsers are doing it to themselves.
I declare Google Chrome as the browser of the future as presently it handles MP4 and webM with great preformance.
Thanks and thought to fill you in with my findings. -

Why Firefox and Opera will not read mp4 inside video tag within HTML5 , or why they will not implement it?
-
Mainly license issues,... (H.264 license)
about Firefox: (probably the same for Opera)
Google and Apple pay a very large annual fee to be able to use H.264 decoding in their browsers. Mozilla believes in a free and open web, and that reliance on patent-encumbered formats limits development and creativity to people who can afford the licensing. For example, if you were to put H.264 video on your website without licensing the codec, the H.264 patent holders could at some point in the future, sue you for damages.
but this might change in the future, see:
