I'm having a baby and I'd like to get a video camera. I only want to spend about $350. I'd like to get a video camera that stores video on an internal HDD. Does anyone have any suggestions? There are too many to choose from! Thanks!

    EDIT: removed the HD part

I don't think there are any in that price range.

Make sure you have a backup strategy. It is easy to lose those files.

  3. Take your pick:

This one, shown online as $341.99, is priced at $299.88 in the company's Sunday sales flyer in the Nashville Tennessean newspaper:

That one is standard def. Most of these are flash RAM, not hard drive.

The high def HDD models seem in the $799 up range.

In this list high def models like the JVC GZ-HD300 kick in around $525.

Note that people complain about trying to edit these non-standard high def formats.

[s:ee4d394c3b]I have had this Sony for a couple of years now[/s:ee4d394c3b], and love it. Low light video really sucks, but the convenience of the HDD is great! Unfortunately I paid twice this when I bought it

EDIT:Sorry, I have the DCR-SR82. I don't really know the big difference between the two, but I still enjoy the ease of use.

I will now go introduce my self properly

  7. Digital cameras do pretty nicely for this too. I use a Panasonic Lumix. It stores on a micro SD card. About 22 minutes per 4 gig card.
