    Hi All, i'm newibie in this area

    I've final project about video stream using NS-2.29.
    And my refrence tools is
    http://www2.tkn.tu-berlin.de/research/evalvid/EvalVid/docevalvid.html
    Do u have decoder CLI?

    1. I'm using x264 as encoder to produce H.264/AVC, and the output is .264. Can i use it as decoder too or i use the ffmpeg as decoder ?
    2. Can i use ffmpeg as encoder and decoder to produce H.264/AVC?
    3. What is the good bitrate for H.264/AVC?

    Please, help me guys

    I don't know exactly what you mean by "final project" but I wouldn't exactly call your link (or especially the link at the end of it) newbie stuff. And, judging from your questions, I don't think you understand the material except for maybe the unix/linux command line part.

    The text in that link tells you to use ffmpeg for h.263 and x264 for h.264. That's just to start. If all this stuff is over your head, and I really think it is, you need to start doing a lot more research and not expect forum video geeks to explain everything to you.

    The doom9 forum is serious video geeks. If you weren't happy with their answers I don't know what to say.

    i just hope all of a videohelpers and Doom9's members can shared their science more help than a google search which is some times it doesn't help straigt to the point... i thinks that a forum discussions' functions

    Doom9 is answered all of my qustion, but i must get the answer more and fast so i shared all my question in all any video forum for my deadine project in this month, okay !

    If you were satisfied with their answers I don't see why you would be asking them again.

    The above link says to use x264 CLI to encode. Why are you worried about ffmpeg?

    I think the bit rate is the least of your problems. Get encoding and decoding straight and then worry about that.
