  1. I am a true beginner in video. When I edit my video in premiere it looks ok, but when I transcode it to dvd I get some strange lines left and right of any moving subject in my image. The problem can come from anywhere in my workflow, as I am a true beginner: this is the second video I made in my life. I tried to upload a sample to youtube, but they don't accept the file type.

Need a lot more info. Post mediainfo output of the file in question, what program you're using to transcode to dvd. It shouldn't be too hard to find out what video format youtube accepts. I very much doubt that would include dvd compatible mpeg2.

  3. It's easy to find out which formats youtube accepts, but my problem is in the file format. In another format it looks fine.
I transcode with Encore, so it is an Encore document, file extension ncor

    Perhaps interlaced video "combing" ?

  5. Thank you Dave, that sounds exactly like what this looks like. I thought of interlacing myself. How do I avoid that?

The question we are really asking is what is the format and type of your source video, not your output.

  7. Thank you sanlyn. I am truly a newbie.
I film with a Nikon D7000 dslr, in pal, 24 fps. Then I import in Premiere Pro; my clips have the file extension mov. I edit things together.
Then I use Adobe dynamic link to send to Encore. authoring mode: dvd; tv standard: pal; frame rate: 25 (is that a problem when my camera makes frame rate 24?)
Is that the info you need?

Use the free medaiInfo utility to post information. You can view MediaInfo in "Text" mode. Then that text to your clipboard, and paaste it into a reply.

  14. test.ncor is the encore project file

They meant using mediainfo on the video

Nikon D7000 dslr, in pal, 24 fps
Is this a typo ? 24? PAL would be 25 fps

What country in Africa do you live in ? (Is the electrical grid 50Hz or 60Hz ) ?
