    Hi Guys,

Please let me know if I can accomplish this. I want to make a dvd supervideo cd with 3 avis movies. I intend to add the movies to the encoding toast 6 window in order to encode them in mpeg 2 and then burn them in a dvd usin toast. Can my player which actually supports svcd, view this movies, how the quality will do, are they going to be as the .avi original quality or worse?

    Thanks for your help,

if you have a dvd burner, why not just convert then to dvd and burn it as a dvd. that way it will play in any dvd player capable of playing dvd-r

Do they fit well, as if they were svcd?

ok, im getting a little confused

    1. SVCD is not a .avi
    2. .avi is a divx encoded movie
    3. SVCD is a mpeg2 encoded movie that is burned to a cd-r

which is it exactly you have

can you give the file extensions
    for example do you have

    movie.avi
    movie.mpeg
    movie.bin

    this will help greatly.

    CORRECTO!

The basic thing is to stack three avi movies in one DVD-R. So I want to know if this is possible, what quality can I obtain going from .avi to mpeg 2 (svcd) or from .avi to DVD. The other issue is that if the player could support them, and space svcd in a dvd-r or just plain converted avis to dvd.

    Thanks for your help,

from my experience you can get about 2 .avi's onto a dvd but it depends on what quality the .avi's are at.

you cant make them any better, so to say .avi to dvd will look better is incorrect.

the best way is to convert these babies to mpeg2 and see how large they are.

My favorite app for this is SABIANS MPEG WORKS
just click DVD tab, then you size and select 1 of your .avi files.
then have it do its thing and see how large the resulting mpeg file is.

you can then build your dvd with something like SIZZLE
