    Hi all...
    Anybody know how to convert mpeg2 video into small mkv file?
    I use mpeg2 compression to record tv program. So I want a program that can reencod the temporary video into a small mkv without any quality loss or just slightly loss in quality. I want to convert video duration of about an hour as a 400-500mb mkv, if smaller is better. plz help me. Thanx...

    Xvid4PSP is another conversion program with a fairly simple user interface.

    Compression with any lossy codec will result in some quality loss. If you use enough bitrate the loss will be minimal. Converting to a lossless codec can result in no quality loss but the result will be much larger than your MPEG 2 source.
