Hi, I've been trying to convert an avi to a DVD so I can get the subtitles embedded before I burn it to a DVDr, but I keep getting this problem..I've followed the directions at the ffmpegx website exactly but every time I encode it never makes the VIDEO TS and AUDIO TS files...it just makes an mpg, an s.mpg, and an .xml file. I've tried with both srt and sub subtitles and on both I keep getting the same error in the log. Here's what it says last time I gave it a go:

Two things to consider:
• The module that is handling the subtitles may trip over the spaces ( ) and special characters (comma, parentheses), in both folder names and file names. Try renaming to simpler names. Replacing special characters with underscore (_) will suffice.
• The ffmpegX supported .sub format is the text based flavor ("SubViewer"/"MicroDVD"), not the image based .sub that is the half of .idx/.sub ("VOBSub"). When in doubt, prefer the .srt file.
The good thing is, you don't have to start all over to complete this. You may use the Author tool, to load your already generated .mpg file with the subtitle file and continue from there.
