I have been slowly ripping my dvd collection to divx so I can stream it across my home network. To do this I have been using the following application chain

    DVDFabDecrypter > pgc.net > avi.net

Up till now I have had no problems with this arrangement, until now. Now with the final divx the sound is out of sync with the video. I have checked the ripped vob files by playing them in divx player and they are in sync, at both the dvdfab and pgc stages.

Is there a way of fixing this?

Does it happen with all dvds now? or have you just tried one?
Haveyou installed any other video software or codecs lately?

Just this one dvd But I haven't tried another. I have installed autogk to try that but I just cause system problems. Is there a way to resync the audio on the final divx?
I have also tried installing the apps on a new pc and it still happend. I think that I need to try ripping another dvd. But I would like to solve the problem for this one in case it happens again.

    Thanks for your quick reply

Open the avi file in media player classic, and use the + and - keys on the number pad to shift the dely until you have the audio in sync. Note the delay.

Open the file in virtualdubmod and click on Streams -> Stream List. Right-click on the audio track and click on Interleaving. Enter the delay you determined through MPC into the box in the lower half of the dialogue. Click OK.

Make sure that both video and audio are set to Direct Stream Copy, and save a new avi file with audio in sync.

I have tried AutoGk, but I can't get it to work. Thats why I ended up useing avi.net it just works (most of the time). As I am still learning alot about video editing, I will try again with autogk as everyone seems to use it.

Doing as GunSlinger suggested fixed the problem. For the time being I have given up with AutoGK. Today I have backed up another DVD and had no problems. So it must have been something about this dvd.
