  1. I am wanting to get a Video card for my computer that has a TV-out and i was wondering if i watch movies through a TV-OUT. Is the quality going to be as good as it is on my comp? or is the quality gonna be degraded sicne it will be converted to my TV?? Also what is the best card for TV-OUT i was gonna get a GeForce 4 Ti4400.

    Thanks

Converting a PC monitor signal to a TV signal is a complicated process and decent scan converters can run into thousands of dollars.

Standard PC TV-Out cards do not generally use advanced or expensive components to do the conversion so the TV picture is normally worse than the monitor picture.

That being said, I have tried and tested a number of TV-Out cards and the best by far seem to be the Matrox brand. I have installed one as a second graphics card in my system and am very pleased with the quality I get from it.

  3. many tv-out cards which are quite good are available.

The tv out on the savage2000 cards from diamond was stellar--
but the card wasn't much good for anything else (mostly because the
    drivers were so poor)

When watching movies on a tv, I've found that the frame rate matters
a lot. avi files that often cut back to 20 fps don't look nearly as good on a
tv as files encoded at 25-30fps even though the smaller avi files looked
nearly as good on a computer monitor.

Just my experience. Your mileage may vary.
