  1. Can anyone help please.

I have an avi file which the quality is excellent but the picture is jumpy it's almost like it take two frames forward then one back.

I have tried lots of different codecs and still the same.

I have opened the file with VirtualDUB and the file plays fine and very smooth, I have tried saving it through virtualDUB but it still saves it as jumpy.

I have tried it with TheFilmMachine and it encodes it and converts it lovely to DVD which took 8 hours but only converted 34 minutes.

Is there a way of saving it with VirtualDUB as it plays, or is there another program i could try.

    Many thanks

do you want to convert to dvd? try divxtodvd.

do you just want to play it smooth on your computer? try vlc media player.

and it would help if you told us what the video and audio codec is. use gspot to identify it.

  3. Hi

I would like to convert to dvd if i can get it smooth but if i have to watch on pc then i will.

The video and audio codecs are....

    Xvid Mpeg-4

    Mpeg-1 layer 3

As i say it will run smooth in VirtualDUB but can't get it to save smooth.

I have tried many different players for example - windows media, WinDVD, Zoomplayer, Divx player 2.6

I have just played it through VLC player and WOW!!! that is so smooth. Is there anyway I can now save that from VLC into a new AVI file that i can convert to DVD?

    Regards
