If I'm not in the correct section I apologise in advance but I've spent a whole day searching the internet for codes to unlock the region lock on my LG HR836T DVD recorder/player. I can't find anything and thought it timeto ask others. Can anyone help me please?

    That's a Blu Ray player.
If there is a hack it will only be for the DVD playability.
Most players nowadays can NOT be hacked.

Since you are in Oz you MAY be able to contact LG for help but with a machine
as sophisticated as that one....your chances are very very very slim.

I think you are right there hech54. I can access the area code lock which is country based coding but there isn't a code to play all. I did ring LG and they said if you change the country code it could damage the DVD. I'll have to get my other machine from the holiday house I think, I know it plays the DVDs I need to watch for a research project because I've played them before on it.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

LG told you a bogus story, you can't damage a dvd by changing the code, the most you can do is lock your player up by trying to change the code.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
