More Capture questions

Thanks for the previous replies to my earlier post.
But am I the only one who has serious problems making analogue video capture programs work?
I have P4, ATI Theatre Pro, 2 Gigs ram, 400 gigs HD.
I have yet to find an all in one program that actually works on my setup.
Pinnacle 9.3 worked for a while then decided it wouldn't any more. No other version of Studio will work on my machine.
I d/loaded Ulead Studio 9 Trial. It won't capture analogue. I can sometimes get the video to show, but then I get a message saying there is no signal.
Should I be looking somewhere else for the problem, or is it common?

I guess I'm wondering why you're not using the capture program that came with the card? Just to be sure to use the latest version of the program from the companies website. That should work 99% of the time.

All capture software that came with the card won't work. It came with PowerProducer Gold
