Wine has lots of problems. Have you tried running it in a VM?

There are many more reasons that programs don't work in Wine. It's just flaky. Linux forums are full of new linux users wanting to use their old Windows apps in wine and having a ton of problems with it. This extremely well documented.

If you are dual booting and still have a win7 partition I'd try running it in a VM. Virtualbox is the one usually recommended for users without a lot of experience with virtualization. Actually it's better to configure a dual boot as single boot linux and always boot windows in a VM. More reliable.

Frankly I very much doubt you're going to find a package that will do exacly what you specified, free or otherwise. If you've searched as thoroughly as you say you have you must be coming to the same conclusion. I gave up on "one size fits all" media programs a long time ago.

Video is just video ... the where, what and who does not matter.

Data crow cataloger allows one to create their own personal modules

I use it to manage a vast collection of video surveillance recordings from a number of sites using my own collection module for easy reference and search should the authorities make a request.
