  1. This is something that I have been trying to figure out and I cant find anything about it.

So I downloaded a blu-ray rip of the movie Speed (1994) that was supposedly ripped/encoded at 60 FPS. At first I though it was fake and wont be at 60 FPS which is why I downloaded it.
I've watched a few scenes from it and it is infact encoded at 60 FPS and is smooth how 60 FPS should be. What I don't understand is how it is encoded at 60 FPS when the original blu-ray is 23.976 FPS and I presume the movie was filmed at that FPS as well.
Now I have done my fair share of encoding but when I tested this by encoding a clip of a movie at 60 FPS from a 23.976 FPS blu-ray, there is no visual difference in frame rate.

Perhaps it is encoded at half speed and then they tinkered with some flags?

If it was done successfully standards people would instantly turn grey and call foul!
