  1. Does the SSE build or the MMX build of ffdshow perform significantly better than the regular builds of it?

    Do you have SSE or MMX instructions on your CPU? If not, they won't do anything. If you do have them and your OS and motherboard takes advantage of it, you might see some improvement, but that's just a guess. Those instructions are fairly common with most newer CPUs.

    Try running CPU-Z. It will tell you if your CPU has those capabilities. http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

  3. It supports MMX, SSE, SSE2, and SSE3. I was under the impression that since SSE is older that it wouldn't do much good and actually be a bad idea to use since it isn't updated as much as the straight up ffdshow.
