  1. Clement again.....with yet another question (short one this time)

Is there a way to trick iDVD into outputting a larger disc image without owning a dual layer DVD burner? I'd like to be able to use the "save as disc image" option and then run it thrugh DVD2ONEX if I feel like it.

The way it is now, iDVD just tells me that my project is too large and refuses to even work on it, which seems silly to me. Why not just warn me, and then give me the option to go ahead and build the image anyway?

If anyone has the answer, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks as always,
    Clement

  2. If you have iDVD5.01, have you tried the french hack to make it creatte dual layer discs with unsupported (non Apple) drives? Possibly thehack would allow a disc image only creation.

I'm not sure of the exact link, but thiks is the site:

    THE SOLUTION

This took me hours to find. Posting it here for anyone still trying to burn DVDs in iDVD on Macs with no optical/DVD drives.

if your Mac has no double-layered enabled Superdrive, but you like to create a DL-media disk-image, launch Terminal, and type (or copy/paste form here):

defaults write com.apple.iDVD SupportDualLayerProjects -bool true

by the next time you launch iDVD, it should allow you to create a DL-img file...
    Boom
