    Hello users @videohelp

I'd really like to know, and have somebody school me in Converting and unDRM'ing .fluxdvd files.
Now i know its just like a ratDVD, and its basically a zipped file containing DVD files.

Is it possible to convert a DRM'd .fluxdvd file to another video format???

please, I am willing to try anything and any program to unDRM & have a new converted file converted from .fluxdvd

Fullrip claims to be able to decrypt/rip fluxdvd - can't say whether it works or not.

Have you tried screencapping? AnyDVD? DVDFab?

fluxDVD is also "supposed" to allow for 1 managed (?) DVD-R copy. So make the copy and then rip the DVD-R.

    PT Barnum was right...

thanks scott, but this 1 copy of the dvd-r, is it the same kind or will this create problems being ripped as well?

  5. My guess would be that few here know much about this format because it is an obscure, crap format no one here would touch with a ten foot pole. It is meant for suckers.

If you want the answer to your last question, try it and find out. At least you will have a standard DVD as a starting point.

But it was not PT Barnum who actually said it but rather said towards him and the people that paid to see his "wonders"

Probably true, but you get my drift.

    I don't get the attraction:

    fluxdvd:
1 quality generation down from DVD, 2 if you want to get back to DVD
Proprietary, only works in Windows platform, and only with THEIR player
DRM'd, so you're paying for AT LEAST one use of it, if not more
Not supported by any MAJOR producers/publishers/distributors
Barely transferable, if at all (which was the Orig request)

    DVD:
Original (encoded xfer from movie), can stay that way
International standard that works on many hardware & software players of multiple platforms
Optional encryption/DRM is bypass-able, so you only need pay that first time when you buy it
Supported by ALL Major (and most minor) producers/publishers/distributors
    Easily transferable and convertible

    Hmmm,...which should I choose?

Only reason I would think it ever a choice for fluxdvd would be if a minor distributor ONLY distributed a title in that format. But you got to wonder if the title is all that great then.

Yeah, I never even heard of "fluxdvd" until now

And even Ratdvd was a joke to me back when people actually used to talk about it and few, very few, used it!!

    LOL!!

But the Barnum thing, I always used to say it, hell I still do, as him saying it because everyone always associates the saying with him, but my old worn down memory actually fired up and I remembered seeing something about it not actually being from him some years ago!!!

  9. My all-time favorite PT Barnum bit is the "5 Cents to see the Egress !".

    An "egress" is the exit.

    What a guy.

Hi, I'm in the same boat now, and can't seem to find help anywhere. Did you ever solve it?
